ThAs part of the ReCall Project’s student engagement activities, a series of Czech national student meetings took place in spring 2025, bringing together motivated participants to actively contribute to the further development of the project’s educational content.
The meetings were held on February 5, February 21, March 3, March 28, and June 5, 2025, primarily involving students from Masaryk University and partner institutions. These sessions focused on a key objective: the evaluation and enhancement of the ReCall Project’s e-learning materials and course modules.
The ReCall Project itself is built around an innovative digital learning environment—including interactive maps, video lectures, and online tasks—designed to explore shared Central European memory and identity in a comparative framework.
What made the Czech meetings particularly distinctive was their bottom-up, student-driven approach. Participants worked collaboratively to:
- Review existing e-learning tasks and course content
- Test usability, clarity, and pedagogical effectiveness
- Suggest improvements to structure, wording, and interactivity
- Develop ideas for new assignments and learning formats
Through these activities, students were not only users of the ReCall course, but active co-creators, contributing directly to the refinement of its digital learning tools.
The sessions went beyond simple feedback collection. They created a space for methodological reflection on digital pedagogy, including:
- How to design engaging and accessible online learning experiences
- How to balance academic depth with user-friendly formats
- How to integrate comparative and transnational perspectives into e-learning tasks
This iterative process ensured that the ReCall course materials are not only academically rigorous, but also adapted to the needs and expectations of contemporary learners.
The Czech national meetings played a crucial role in strengthening the project’s student network and collaborative spirit. By involving students directly in content development, the ReCall Project reinforces its commitment to:
- Participatory learning
- Cross-border academic cooperation
- Innovative teaching methodologies
These workshops demonstrate how student feedback can meaningfully shape educational outputs, making the ReCall Project a truly interactive and evolving learning platform.
The insights gained during the Czech meetings will directly inform the ongoing development of the ReCall e-learning course and its future iterations. As the project progresses, similar participatory formats will continue to play a key role in ensuring both academic quality and user engagement.
Through initiatives like these, ReCall not only studies Central Europe—it actively builds a shared academic community across the region.
